Ed was born in South Africa and graduated from the University of Pretoria in 1996 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BChD).

Following graduation, he spent three years working in Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery departments at two universities. During this time, he gained extensive surgical experience and completed a Diploma in Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery (DipOdont MFOS).

In 2003, Ed and his family moved to New Zealand and made Blenheim their home. Since then, he has proudly served the Marlborough community, providing high-quality dental care with a strong focus on patient comfort and clinical excellence.

Ed has a special interest in cosmetic dentistry, oral surgery and dental implants. He is passionate about helping patients achieve healthy, functional and confident smiles.

Outside the practice, Ed enjoys spending quality time with his wife and two children. When he is not in the surgery, you will often find him enjoying the outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing.

Steven graduated from Liverpool University in 1989 and has extensive experience in general dentistry. Originally from Warrington in the North West of England, he worked in practices throughout England, Scotland, and Wales before relocating to Blenheim with his family in 2003.

Since joining Durrheim & Associates in 2004, Steven has built a reputation for his calm and approachable manner, helping patients feel comfortable and supported while working together to achieve healthy, confident smiles.

Outside of dentistry, Steven enjoys making the most of the Marlborough lifestyle through tramping, skiing, rock climbing, and biking. He is also a dedicated supporter of Liverpool Football Club and the Warrington rugby league team.

Steven says, “I like to think I put my patients at ease and work well with them so they can achieve healthy smiles.”

Gemma is a proud Marlborough local who graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (Credit) in 2007. She began her dental career as a Dental House Surgeon at Christchurch Hospital before returning home to Blenheim, where she joined Durrheim & Associates in 2009.

Gemma has a particular interest in cosmetic dentistry and enjoys helping patients restore their confidence through healthy, beautiful smiles. She is passionate about patient education and takes great satisfaction in helping anxious patients feel at ease during their dental visits. Her gentle and caring approach ensures every patient receives treatment in a comfortable and supportive environment.

Outside of dentistry, Gemma is a busy mother of five and loves spending quality time with her family exploring the Marlborough Sounds and enjoying the region’s outdoor lifestyle.

Barbara is a caring and compassionate dentist who values listening to her patients and working together to create personalised treatment plans tailored to their individual needs.

As a general dentist, Barbara has a particular interest in helping anxious patients feel comfortable accessing dental care and overcoming past negative experiences. She is passionate about patient education and empowering people to take control of their oral health through preventative care and long-term dental wellbeing.

Outside of the practice, Barbara enjoys walking her dogs, staying active, growing vegetables, and preparing organic and wild food for family and friends.

Barbara says, “Whilst I am moving to a shorter work week, I feel very fortunate to have such a wonderful patient base and always enjoy welcoming new patients to the practice.”

Simoné graduated from the University of Pretoria in South Africa in 1980 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BChD). She successfully owned and operated her own private dental practice for almost 35 years before relocating to New Zealand with her husband, Mauritz, in 2015.

With decades of clinical experience, Simoné is passionate about helping patients restore both the health and beauty of their smiles. She believes that aesthetics and function should always work together and take great pride in delivering high-quality, patient-focused dental care.

Simoné has a particular interest in smile rehabilitation and enjoys working with modern dental technologies and advanced materials to achieve long-lasting, natural-looking results. She is committed to ongoing professional development and continually stays up to date with the latest advancements in dentistry.

Known for her gentle approach and dedication to patient wellbeing, Simoné finds great fulfilment in sharing her knowledge, skill, and experience to help patients feel confident in their smiles.

Outside of dentistry, Simoné enjoys spending time with her husband, four children, and eight grandchildren.

Jean graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, in 1998. In 2001 he completed a mini residency in orthodontics at Chesterfield infirmary, England. Working in the NHS as well as privately allowed him to hone his skills in all the clinical aspects of dentistry.

It was during Jean's time as private practice owner in Cape Town that he really found his true passion in dentistry, finding the fields of dental implantology and CAD/CAM restorative dentistry most rewarding and fulfilling. Jean served on the SAAAD (South African Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry) board for several years and presented various lectures during this time.

Jean finds great satisfaction in delivering biomimetic functional and aesthetic rehabilitation treatment of the worn dentition through an integrated workflow. Being able to make a difference in someone's life and health is a humble and rewarding experience which really motivates and moves him.

Outside the office he is an avid mountain biker and loves pursuing outdoor adventures with his young family.

Joju was born in Kerala in the south of India and obtained his degree from the University of Mangalore in 1992. After graduating, he obtained Masters in the Speciality of Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge (MDS). In 2003 he was admitted to the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (FRACDS) and in 2008, Membership in Prosthodontics (MRACDS). In 2012 he obtained Membership in Restorative Dentistry majoring in Prosthodontics from Royal college of Surgeons Edinburgh, UK (M Pros RCS Ed). In 2014 He passed the bridging exams (Australian Dental Council) and decided to relocate to New Zealand. 

He has worked for the Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Brunei before moving to Blenheim in 2016 with his family. 

Joju loves tackling challenging cases, particularly working on full mouth reconstructions, and extractions with implants. His intention is to provide the highest level of care possible, helping you feel your best.

Outside of work, Joju spends most of his time with his wife, 3 sons and a daughter. Joju is Passionist in Theology. He is also an avid gardener.

Mike is an experienced general dentist who graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Otago. Over the course of his career, he has practised dentistry in Wairoa, Palmerston North, Whanganui, Lower Hutt, and Tauranga, caring for patients across a wide range of communities throughout New Zealand.

Mike is committed to providing gentle, patient-focused dental care and believes in making every dental visit as comfortable and positive as possible. His approach focuses on helping patients maintain healthy teeth, good oral function, and the ability to eat comfortably and confidently.

Originally from Wellington, Mike has strong family connections to the West Coast, Christchurch, and Southland. He has been married for more than 40 years and has four adult children, including one who lives in Blenheim. Outside of dentistry, Mike enjoys skiing, sailing, and following the Hurricanes rugby team, and has previously coached schoolboy rugby and cricket.

Mike looks forward to welcoming patients and continuing to provide trusted dental care to the Blenheim community.

Duncan was born in Dunedin and raised in Nelson and Christchurch, where he developed lifelong interests in the outdoors, classic and vintage motorcycles, and more recently home brewing.

He completed a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry in 1980 before working as a coastal sea fisherman and later for an international pharmaceutical company. He then pursued his long-held ambition of studying dentistry, graduating with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Otago in 1990.

After five years in general practice in Hobart, Duncan returned to New Zealand and established himself in Blenheim, where he owned and operated a busy general dental practice for many years while raising his family and serving the Marlborough community.

Duncan is passionate about providing high quality, patient focused dental care and has continually pursued further education in all areas of general dentistry, with a particular interest in restorative dentistry and long-term oral health. He enjoys embracing modern digital technology and the benefits it brings to contemporary dental care, and values being part of the experienced and supportive team at Durrheim & Associates.

Miché was born in the Western Cape of South Africa and graduated with a Dental Degree from the University of Pretoria in 2011. Following graduation, she completed her community service year with the South African Military Health Services before obtaining a Diploma in Prosthodontics in 2013. She then entered private practice, where she gained extensive experience providing a wide range of general dental treatments.

In 2020, Miché and her young family made New Zealand home, settling in Blenheim, Marlborough. She is committed to delivering gentle, patient-centred care and believes in taking the time to understand each person’s individual needs. Her approach focuses on building lasting relationships with patients while creating personalised treatment plans that support both immediate dental health and long-term prevention.

Miché understands that visiting the dentist can be a daunting experience for many people and strives to create a welcoming, comfortable environment where patients feel listened to, informed, and genuinely cared for.

Outside of dentistry, Miché enjoys spending time with her family and is actively involved in her local church community.

Pip is a proud Marlborough local, having grown up on the East Coast of the region. She completed her training in Wellington before returning home to Marlborough following graduation.

With extensive experience in the dental industry across both the public and private sectors, Pip brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role. She currently works part-time with Durrheim & Associates, providing care to patients at both the Blenheim and Picton practices.

Pip is passionate about delivering comprehensive, high-quality care to the adolescents she works with and takes pride in helping young patients develop positive oral health habits that support lifelong dental wellbeing.

She values being part of the dedicated, caring, and skilled team at Durrheim & Associates and enjoys contributing to a positive experience for every patient she meets.

Rylee is a dedicated Oral Health Therapist who is passionate about helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles through personalised and compassionate care. She enjoys working with patients of all ages and creating a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and supported.

Rylee began her dental career at Durrheim & Associates as a Dental Assistant in 2019 before completing her Bachelor of Oral Health at the University of Otago. After graduating, she returned to the practice in 2022 as an Oral Health Therapist, bringing with her a strong commitment to preventive dentistry and patient education and long-term oral health.

Outside of the work, Rylee enjoys spending time with her family and making special memories with her daughter.

Marinda began her tertiary studies in 1996, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Human Genetics and Psychology. Later in life, she discovered her true passion in dentistry and returned to university to complete a Degree in Dental Technology, graduating Cum Laude in 2012.

In 2020, Marinda embraced the opportunity to move to New Zealand, a decision for which she remains deeply grateful. She joined the Durrheim team in 2021 and brings a wealth of knowledge, precision, and enthusiasm to her role.

Outside of work, Marinda enjoys tackling DIY projects, spending time with her beloved puppies, and fitting in a round of golf whenever she can.

Her personal motto is: "It's not whether the glass is half full or half empty—the question is, are you going to drink it?"
